Where is Red Crane located?
We are located at 867 S 19th St. Richmond in the rapidly developing Marina Bay district. Just minutes north of Berkeley and Oakland this neighborhood, known for its historical Rosie the Riveter shipyards, is a growing destination for many artists, startups, and small businesses. With the charm and appeal of Point Richmond nearby, as well as the new ferry servicing San Francisco, we are accessible from many locations and enjoy more space and less congestion. Some of Red Crane’s neighbors are glass blowers, ceramics suppliers, metal sculptors, breweries, and fine dining caterers. We are fortunate to part of a growing and thriving creative locale.
How do I rent a space from Red Crane?
Come take a tour! Contact us to schedule an opportunity to see the variety of spaces we have available. After you visit us, simply submit an application to start the process. We do require that all our tenants possess a general liability insurance policy. These policies are not expensive, and they protect you and your work, and ensure that Red Crane is able meet its obligations for coverage of the facilities as a whole. We can provide a source for getting a policy quickly and cost effectively if you need one.
What about noise?
We promote a respectful atmosphere at Red Crane, so that all people can work to their potential. Therefore we are not ideally suited to activities that create large amounts of noise, fumes, or dust. We offer spaces that are creative offices completely enclosed for those who would prefer more insulation for their work, and we also have semi-private studios for those who are interested in working in an open environment. Our current tenants include painters, sculptors, photographers, makers, and digital media professionals.
How big is Red Crane Studios?

We want to encourage a friendly, neighborly atmosphere where people know and value each other, but also respect each other’s privacy and solitude. Our goal is to foster an environment truly conducive to your creativity.
